UPDATE: ZICO TRICKS LA HORQUETTA
Midfield Zico Henry scored a rapid fire hat-trick yesterday (66′, 71′, 83″) against La Horquetta SA at Marvin Lee Stadium to keep FC Santa Rosa in fifth place in the Super League table. With three matches left to be played the Big Cannons remain in the hunt for fourth place.
Relegation-threatened La Horquetta needed to win and came to play. Starting fast and with purpose they forced Santa Rosa back into their own half and looked the better team for the first half hour. Santa Rosa held and a goal from Gary Bart (35″), his third in three matches, allowed the Big Cannons to gradually assert control over their opponent. One-nil at the half.
The second half was dominated by Santa Rosa as they stifled La Horquetta and Zico ran riot. Goalkeeper Kitwana manning made two very good saves to preserve the 4:0 shut-out, Santa Rosa’s fifteenth in twenty-nine matches played to date.
The Big Cannons face Palo Seco SC on Sunday at Marvin Lee Stadium from 5.00PM.
