UPDATE: FINAL PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY FOR WALK FOR PEACE

Final preparations are underway for Arima Walk For Peace. The details of the event are:

– DATE; Saturday 17 March 2018

– START TIME: 8.00AM SHARP (Please make the sacrifice and come early)

– ASSEMBLY POINT: The Amphitheatre, Holly Betaudier Boulevard (next to the Velodrome)

– ROUTE: 1) From the Amphitheatre to St. Joseph Street, 2) north on St. Joseph Street to Green Street, 3) right turn on to Green Street and east to Woodford Street, 4) left turn on to Woodford Street and north to Church Street, 5) right turn on to Church Street and east to Prince Street, 6) right turn on to Prince street and south to Broadway, 7) right turn on to Broadway and west to Queen Street, 8) left turn on to Queen Street and south to Arima Market, 9) around the Savannah back to the Amphitheatre.

Keith Diaz, a.k.a. “The Flag Man”, will lead the Walk. All participating groups are invited to identify themselves by wearing their uniform and to walk behind their banner or flag if they have one. Individuals are invited to wear something red (our national colour).

OFFICIAL PROGRAMME

On return to the Amphitheatre, Holly Betaudier, Jr. of Nettoville Carolers will host a short official programme. A spokesperson for Arima youth will make a statement on their behalf. United Steel Band of Arima (a representative conglomeration of players from most Arima bands) will play music arranged by Marlon White (Marsicans) and B.J. Marcelle (Arima Golden Symphony) as part of the closing programme. Calypsonian Skatie has promised to sing one of his many songs. Keith Look Loy of FC Santa Rosa will also make brief remarks.

WATER DONATION

Persons who wish to donate water to the event are asked to bring it on the day to the assembly point.

FC Santa Rosa and supporters of this event emphasize yet again that Arima Walk For Peace is a non-political, non-religious, all-inclusive action, intended to express, with ONE, UNITED, DIGNIFIED, VOICE, Arima’s rejection of the crime, abuse, violence and murder being unleashed against the population by a small minority of persons..
